One of the reasons I’m running for sheriff is the lack of transparency currently exhibited by the sheriff’s office. Cobb County residents have a right to know how their tax dollars are being spent and what the sheriff’s office is doing.
Right now, families and community groups are having to sue the sheriff’s office to get information. Even worse, when something wrong happens in the detention center it seems no one is held accountable. That must change.
As sheriff, I will host open office hours where anyone – a community member, staff member, whoever – can meet with me. Our office will also host quarterly meetings to share updates with the public, take questions, and hear what’s happening in the community.
Once elected, I will call for a forensic audit to determine what reforms are necessary. We will do everything we can to restore truth, trust, and transparency to the Cobb County sheriff’s office.
